So this my reaction to the end of one more day- joey q strangling the life out of spiderman (which works both metaphorically and physically as he was the artist). I think anyone who knows my art will say theres a little bit of anger in this drawing. Its been no secret that JQ doesnt like the spider marriage but has allways said that its there now and theres no way to dissolve it without aging Peter.
Looks like they found a way.
Was it a good way? Hell no. Over on Spiderfan.org they thought of a dozen better and more plausible ways to end it. Neither myself nor Liam could think of a single issue in which Spiderman and Mephisto have met- so for him to take such a major role in the arc is ridiculous.
To quote someone from the Newsarama boards 'Joey Q had to make Peter sign a deal with the devil in order to end the marriage. Way to send a message'.
At this minute there have been over 100 people saying that this was an excellent change and story on a poll over at the 'Rama. However there are just over 2300 people saying its the worst thing they've heard of- I think those figures speak for themselves.
So Brand New day beckons with the beginnig of a new era of spiderman. Personally I didn't hear any need to for a new era, it's just that they thoughlessly wrote themselves into a corner by tagging onto big events (civil war, spiderman 3). So I think I need to take a break from spidey but you never know i might feel differently tommorrow- then again I might wake up and it was all a horrible nightmare.
(don't even get me started about all the history theyv erased)
